New Liberty Village
Spiritual/Cultural Life

Our village distinguishes itself from the communities of the past having made a distinction of three different arenas and orders of living together with others, on this planet. They are our Spiritual Life, our Rights Life, and our Economic life. All of us participate in all three areas of social life together, whether we have differentiated them or not.

The concept freedom applies and reigns in Spiritual Life as in no other arena.  No man or circumstance has control or influence over what I think, believe, teach, or the customs and culture I follow.  In society,  our religious and cultural beliefs and thoughts are our own choice, governed by our own volition, no other individuals or groups choice or action, whether a few or many,  whatever their power or motive.  Not everyone has come to realize and exercise this freedom but our village is structured to encourage this liberty.

If it is a matter of legal and agreed upon relationships between others, it is not a 'spiritual' consideration in the sense of this social definition.  Relationships between individuals become a matter of 'rights' and 'wrongs' whether they are obvious and made explicit or not.  In our society, we think we can together deliberate and even regulate some areas of our life which concern everyone  equally and the same. Only those which do concern all equally and the same fall under this province. Equality, not Freedom, has become the by-word for our Rights Life organizations always concerning a plurality of persons, not  individual choice, proclivities and differences.

The production, distribution , and consumption of goods is another social branch of our communities, requiring a separate and very different kind of social interaction than either the Spiritual or Rights Life. This order too operates under a different set of principles and requires unigue considerations.

What each person believes and thinks is their own concern. The "I believe ...." pages on this site offer an opportunity for anyone to come to terms, and express in this public forum their own special and individual beliefs. There is within our community a very wide range of beliefs and cultures. What is most remarkable is that we can still live side-by-side, allowing freedom in these areas of life, as different as individual beliefs and cultures may be.  We think this simple but profound discernment can serve as a model for social peace and progress wherever it is tried, no matter the circumstances and number of persons in a group. Allow and provide for freedom of choice and belief. Encourage free artist and cultural expression.  Freedom of thought, speech and education and peace and harmony can follow ... a vital and dynamic peace and harmony, not a forced, dead peace and getting along. Expansion, not limitation of freedom.

How this is achieved are the lessons that will be discussed and shared by this website. Everyone thinking alike within the community is NOT one of our goals.  There is a place for exchange, debate, challenge and disagreement, without rancor and ill will.  This is not a new cult or sect, everyone thinking alike, but free-thinking and free-living persons, learning how to live side-by-side on this beautiful planet, before it is too late. Regimentation and uniformity ... definitely NOT the answer.

Something is calling me
Calling so urgently
And in my blood I feel
The rush, rushing of birds in flight
Out of a lifeless night
Soaring in a world
Full of truth and full of light

Loose me of bonds I cry
Or hungering I shall die
Here in the dark to lie
Never to know what ecstasies passed me by
There is no sleeping.
Into my dreams it's seeping,
Tantalizing ... Pulsing ... Leaping

And as the day draws near,
The haunting call grows clear
Morning has come
And peace is here.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves, who am I  to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?

Actually, who are you NOT to be?

You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not in some of us, it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

Marianne Williamson as quoted by Nelson Mandela in his Inaugural Speech, 1994
